Oud speler, componist
Jaber Fayad is an Oud player, composer, and teacher from As-Suwayda, Syria. He plays in the Boostband as part of the Leven in je Buurt! programme. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Oud performance from the Damascus Conservatory and a master’s degree (cum laude) from Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam.
Jaber is an active performer who has appeared at major European venues and festivals such as Concertgebouw, Elbphilharmonie, Paradiso, and TivoliVredenburg. Alongside performing, he teaches Oud and shares his musical knowledge with students from diverse backgrounds.
His work reflects a versatile musical voice, combining Middle Eastern traditions with influences from Classical, Jazz, and other world music styles.
